Asian Inspired Steak Marinade

Steaks searing over high heat grill, creating mouthwatering char marks

Today, I am going to share with you one of my steak marinades that has become one of my favorites when grilling. It’s Asian inspired, utilizing some of the delicious flavors that are found in Asian cuisines. This marinade is very easy to put together and great for almost any type of steak.

Pick your steak

As mentioned above, you can use almost any type of steak for this marinade. I’ve done it with more expensive cuts of meat like porterhouses and ribeyes, but it’s also extremely delicious with skirt steak, flank steak, and steak tips. Like I said – use whichever type of steak that you want!

The marinade

Besides the steak of your choice, you’ll need the following for the marinade:

It’s as simple as combining all of these ingredients together, adding the steak, and putting it in the refrigerator for around 4 hours. If you are unable to completely submerge the steak in the marinade, make sure to flip at the halfway point so that all sides soak up this delicious marinade.

Cook the steak as you normally would

Once the steak is done marinating, you’re going to cook it as you normally would. Here are some previous posts that can help guide you on how to do that (depending on the type of steak):

Big flavor, small effort

It’s incredibly easy to get big, bold, and delicious flavors with this marinade. While I’ve only used it on steak so far, I believe it will also be great on chicken wings (or any chicken) and pork dishes. It’s savory with a hint of sweetness. When cooked, the brown sugar will caramelize on the outside of the steak, leaving you with great char marks. Try this marinade out on your preferred steak (or any type of protein) and let me know what you think in the comments. It’s always popular when I make it, and I hope that it will be for you too.
